He has traveled the United States training more than 5,000 recruiters. His clientele list includes: Oracle, Ernst & Young, Microsoft, AOL/Time Warner, Cisco, Sony, and numerous others.
Otis began his career in the US Navy where he recruited candidates in both enlisted and officer programs. He developed his Internet skills when he was asked to lead a project to develop a military recruiting website for Navy Recruiting District Atlanta.
He left the Navy in 1998 and began working for Xerox Connect where he honed his e-recruiting skills by becoming one of the first Internet recruitment researchers for the company. He served as an in-house sourcer, recruiting highly sought after candidates. His unique searching techniques prepared him for his next career challenge.
In February of 2000, Otis became a trainer with AIRS (Advanced Internet Recruitment Strategies). As a trainer, he traveled across the United States teaching recruiters the art of finding passive candidates on the web. These never seen before techniques created an unbelievable demand for recruitment training. In three short years, AIRS had trained over 50,000 recruiters worldwide.
Otis played several key roles within this training company. Otis held the position as Director of Corporate Training. He was also an active member of the research and course development team. In addition, he taught public seminars, corporate training events, and e-learning classes. His contributions to AIRS News columns, and his “Otis Bonus” tips and tricks are now famous throughout the recruitment industry.
Otis often works as an independent consultant providing recruitment training as well as sourcing services to large household known clients. Otis recently completed a job hunting e-book titled, “You Don’t Know SQUAT About Job Hunting”, adding the title author to his many noted accomplishments.
